The REKKORD F400 is a fully automatic sub-chassis turntable that is not only convincing in terms of sound, but is also a real eye-catcher. The entire automatic system as well as the tonearm and the damped aluminum platter are built on a floating sub-chassis platform which is decoupled from the rest of the chassis. The F400 features a massless tracking force adjustment which optimizes the center of gravity directly at the bearing center. The automatic system is adjusted and fine-tuned by experienced technicians and is based on a highly complex mechanism which has traditionally matured and further developed over decades. The preadjusted high quality Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is mounted on a carbon fiber reinforced headshell which offers the perfect connection to the aluminium tonearm. The 2M Red is an all-purpose cartridge that delivers an open and dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth. The plinth is made of MDF and is available in 4 different finishes: satin black, high gloss black, and cherry or makassar real wood veneers. Cables, dust cover and a single adapter comes supplied with the turntable.

The turntable is raised above the main chassis of the unit on a sub-chassis platform. This separates the automatic system (including the arm and damped aluminium platter) away from the main plinth, reducing the potential for noise interference. Given the plinth is made from MDF (picked for its resonance-damping qualities) already, this gives you an idea of how serious Rekkord are with getting things just right.

High-quality sound and convenience. The F400 is convenient to use and has a very luxurious finish. Once the music began, the significant jump in sound quality was obvious. This is worth spending more money on.
